Diego González

Cache Mobiliario“There are many people in Nicaragua who enter [the workforce] with the mentality that they will be exploited. We are working to change this.”

- Diego González

Diego González's background is in economics and marketing. But in 1996, when an architect friend  proposed founding Caché Mobiliario, a small furniture company specializing in commercial interiors, Diego jumped at the idea. Ten years later, thanks to Diego’s untiring interest in furniture design, Caché Mobilario is one of the most important innovators in Nicaraguan interiors.

Cache Mobilario’s furniture is among the best in Nicaraguan production.  Diego, drawing from his education abroad, takes an international approach to achieve such quality:  German engineering for small parts, innovative raw materials from Asia, and  high-performing modern design techniques from across the globe. But make no mistake--the company is founded on hard work found locally in Central America. Although the most technologically advanced parts and materials must often be imported, the skilled labor is contracted locally. The company employs team of brilliant designers that translate their client’s needs into beautiful, effective work spaces.

Among these intriguing designs is their work on many of the interiors of Hospital Metropolitano, the most advanced hospital in Nicaragua. Any traveler in Managua won’t miss their store designs in the Sandino International Airport.  Diego is always looking for new ways to improve his business, Diego contacted Agora Partnerships to help the company pursue new opportunities in the marketplace.

Consulting Focus:

Diego and his team at Caché Mobilario are working with Agora to improve their internal administration, finance, and accounting operations.  They recently worked with a team from Duke University on analyzing their market and competition to determine effective marketing strategies and optimize client outreach. Diego hopes to launch a new do-it-yourself line of furniture, a concept that could revolutionize domestic furniture-making in Nicaragua for home and office.
